OIL AND WATER (1992)
After spending almost 20 years with two legendary West Virginia bands - The Putnam County Pickers and Stark Raven - this album marks Ron’s first solo effort. Like the albums to follow, he explores a wide range of emotions, tackles some difficult subjects and intersperses it all with timely moments of comic relief. In addition to the mostly original songs it also features a very original take on Merle Travis’s iconic Sixteen Tons.
